A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,
SanDee&amelie&the SASPC team

Extra Steam Power - Altered Cog

Servus and welcome back to another "Extra Steam Power" post. DT member Brigitte from "La maison du coutureuse" has done one of her lovely altered cogs in steampunk style!

So I hope you will visit her blog where she shares some steps images (as well as a French tutorial) and enjoy watching her process!

1. Print a cog (find template on the net), cut out to use as a mask, draw on thick corrugated card.

2. Cut out the corrugated card, peel off some of the upper layer.
Paint black.

3. Add DecoArt Antiquing Cream Raw Umber and media fluid acrylic Cadmium orange.

Always let acrylic paints dry before next step.

4. Glue on some images and paper, add a photo.

5. Paint some circles randomly on the background and the papers using DecoArt fluid acrylic paints Paynes Grey and Titan Buff.

6. Add metal embellishments.

Our Steampunk Challenge Winter Special

Hello and servus!

As it is the 1st of November this means the start of a new Steampunk challenge!
Being aware of the fact that most of you are already in full gear with creating for Christmas we have decided to do another two-months challenge so it is more likely that you will want to make some time for a bit of steampunk or industrial mixed media crafting (or mabye even Christmas steampunk crafting...lol).

The theme for November AND December is

-Anything Goes-
Steampunk/Industrial

So as long as it is steampunk or industrial style you can create any kind  of theme and project you wish! From steampunk style Christmas baubles to non-Christmas steampunk cards to tags to altered objects or whatever else you would love to create - we want to see it all! Show us your industrial and steampunk styles and creations!

This challenge will be open until the end of December (so there's two months time this time to play along) and once more we have two prizes to give away to two randomly drawn winners (picked from all proper entries to our challenge).

These will be generously donated by

Retro Kraft Shop

http://www.retrokraftshop.pl/en/

and

La Blanche

http://www.lablanche-shop.de/shop/

And of course the team will vote their Top5 and these will be announced in the new year shortly after the challenge has closed.

There will be a second bundle of inspiration for you on our blog on December 1st but for now I am very proud to present to you my team's projects for November:

Brigitte

An altered jumbo puzzle.
Cogs, image, charms, spring, light bulb...
more details on my blog

If I have aroused your curiosity then unfold the accordion book on my blog ...

Agnieszka

There's never enough gears and never enough boxes to store them
- that's my motto. ;) So I altered another wooden box and in went clockwork.
You can see more close-ups and a few words on the technique used on my blog.

NATE

Bonjour à toutes ,
Carnet voyage im time
je vous invite a venir découvrir les détails sur mon blog .

I love alterations, gold and teal colours. I made this time makeover of little clutch bag decorating it by metal and fabrics steampuk feminine style.
More detail you can see at my blog, you're welcome!

And remember: "Anything Goes" for November and December - be it steampunk or industrial or even some steampunk-ish Christmas spirit gracing our little steampunk challenge corner! I am sure you will once more surprise us with your imaginative and inventive interpretations of steampunk art and crafts!

You will find our linlinkz collection for entering your project at the bottom of this post.

And don't forget to check back on the 14th November to find out about our Top5 and prize winner of the "Top Hats and Moustaches" challenge! We loved all the projects so once more choosing our Top5 is going to be hard!

Hugs and happy crafting,
Claudia & the SASPC Team
